Overview

  • Chandrakhani Pass is one of the most beautiful and serene pass, at an altitude of 3660m located in the Kullu valley. Chandrakhani Pass offers fabulous views of the Deo Tibba peak, Pir Panjal and Parbati range of mountains. The trek is one of the most beautiful treks that introduces the traveler to the remote, hilly cultures of Himachal Pradesh. The scenic beauty of the Kullu valley and the mountain peaks that dot that horizon is a treat for the nature lover throughout the journey. The region is also known as the Valley of Gods. Legend has that Jamlu (the presiding deity at Malana), opened a basket containing the gods of Kullu at the Chandrakhani Pass and the strong winds blew the gods to their present abodes.

    Detailed Itinerary

    Day 1: Manali (6725 ft) to Naya Tapu (10,826 ft) via Rumsu by drive.

  • Time Taken : 50 min (27kms) drive to Rumsu and 4-5 hrs (4kms) trek.
  • At 8 am we will start our road journey towards Rumsu via Naggar. The short road trip through the beautiful villages of Himachal Pradesh marks a great start of the days to come. The Chandrakhani Pass trek will start from Rumsu with packed lunch. The trek distance for the day is around 4 km. The trail goes through dense forest full of oaks, fir and chestnuts. Its moderate ascent & will take almost 4-5 hours. Naya tapu will be on plain ground from where we can see the view of Beas River, Manali city & many more beautiful villages & peaks. Overnight stay.


    Day 2: Naya Tapu to Chaklani.
  • Time Taken : 5 hrs (5kms) trek.
  • Trek today will be moderate and takes around four to five hours depending on the pace. Hanuman Tibba and Friendship peaks are visible from a distance. Overnight stay in tents.


    Day 3: Chaklani to Nagrani Via Chandrakhani Pass (12008 ft).
  • Time Taken : 5-6 hrs (5kms) trek.
  • Today, we will trek all the way till Chandrakhani Pass at 3,600 Meters with a steady climb through conifer forest and meadows. The trail offers magnificent views of Pir Panjal range, Dhauladhar range with peaks rising above 6000 mts and Parvathi valley. Packed lunch at Chandrakhani pass and start the descent for Nagrani campsite. Overnight stay at Nagrani.


    Day 4: Nagrani to Malana (8695 ft) and drive to Manali.
  • Time Taken : 5-6 hrs (5kms) trek and 3-4 hour drive.
  • We will take a descent down to Malana which is steep and tiring. We will reach Malana by the evening. Visit and explore local life and the traditional houses.

    Payment Terms

  • 100% Payment to confirm the booking.
  • The customer receives a confirmation voucher via email or phone within 24 to 48 hours of successful booking.
  • In case the preferred slots are unavailable, an alternate schedule of the customer’s preference will be arranged and a new confirmation voucher will be sent via email or phone.
  • Alternatively, the customer may choose to cancel their booking before confirmation and a full refund will be processed.
  • Cancellation Policy

  • If cancellations are made 15 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made 7-15 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • If cancellations are made within 0-7 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.
  • In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such cases operators will try their best to provide an alternate feasible. However, tripedea will not bear any cost for the same.
  • Cancellations are strictly subjected to cancellation policies mentioned on the website & are irrespective of the date of booking.
  • No Refund or Compensation for any unused services or transport in any kind of circumstance.
  • The applicable refund amount will be processed within 15 business days.
  • All applicable refunds will be done in traveller's tripedea account.

    • You can take a bus or volvo to reach Manali.

    Fitness Requirement.

    • It is a moderate to difficult trek.
    • Target 5 km in 35 minutes before the start of the trek.

    Things to Carry.

    • Original and photocopy of photo identity card.
    • Medical certificate (If needed).
    • Trekking Shoes(waterproof) and Backpack (40-60 litre) and Rain Cover.
    • Dry fit T-shirt (2 to 3), Mid layer light fleece and jacket for outer layer and trek pants.
    • Other accessories like Sunglasses, Suncap, Woolen cap, hand Gloves, socks, headlamp, trekking poles, toiletries, Rainwear and a daypack (20-30 litre).
