Chandrakhani Pass is one of the most beautiful and serene pass, at an altitude of 3660m located in the Kullu valley. Chandrakhani Pass offers fabulous views of the Deo Tibba peak, Pir Panjal and Parbati range of mountains. The trek is one of the most beautiful treks that introduces the traveler to the remote, hilly cultures of Himachal Pradesh. The scenic beauty of the Kullu valley and the mountain peaks that dot that horizon is a treat for the nature lover throughout the journey. The region is also known as the Valley of Gods. Legend has that Jamlu (the presiding deity at Malana), opened a basket containing the gods of Kullu at the Chandrakhani Pass and the strong winds blew the gods to their present abodes.
Day 1: Manali (6725 ft) to Naya Tapu (10,826 ft) via Rumsu by drive.
At 8 am we will start our road journey towards Rumsu via Naggar. The short road trip through the beautiful villages of Himachal Pradesh marks a great start of the days to come. The Chandrakhani Pass trek will start from Rumsu with packed lunch. The trek distance for the day is around 4 km. The trail goes through dense forest full of oaks, fir and chestnuts. Its moderate ascent & will take almost 4-5 hours. Naya tapu will be on plain ground from where we can see the view of Beas River, Manali city & many more beautiful villages & peaks. Overnight stay.
Trek today will be moderate and takes around four to five hours depending on the pace. Hanuman Tibba and Friendship peaks are visible from a distance. Overnight stay in tents.
Today, we will trek all the way till Chandrakhani Pass at 3,600 Meters with a steady climb through conifer forest and meadows. The trail offers magnificent views of Pir Panjal range, Dhauladhar range with peaks rising above 6000 mts and Parvathi valley. Packed lunch at Chandrakhani pass and start the descent for Nagrani campsite. Overnight stay at Nagrani.
We will take a descent down to Malana which is steep and tiring. We will reach Malana by the evening. Visit and explore local life and the traditional houses.
